From: Graham Quartly Forgot to mention in my last mail that we were escorted in by a Tornado, and that we got stuck for a long while in Arrivals because high winds delayed the unloading of baggage. A novel excuse, but quite believable! (Ben has pictures of Tornado, if he hasn't already sent it.) CTD frame has been placed on deck set-up ready to go. Salinity bottles have been stored right way up and half full of distilled water. ARGO floats have now been found - they were under some boxes for a later cruise. Everthing is now well and under control. I'm arranging a trip tomorrow for science party to Volunteer's Point (bird watching) as there is really very little preparation left to do. Nice for the team spirit to have some time off before we sail. Graham |
