Subject: Phosphorescence
Well, it's all over and we're back on land in Chile. Arica - this part of Chile - is very dry as you can see in the photos. Quite a contrast from the lush forests of Costa Rica.
It only took a couple of days to get to Arica, but it felt a lot longer. I can tell you it was great to wake up on the last morning and see land and lights twinkling in the distance. I enjoyed the cruise, but I'm glad to be back.
This morning we went up a big cliff that overlooks Arica. At the top there is a big statue of Jesus, which looks out to sea and over the town below. You could see the statue from the ship, and it was impressive close up.
The views were great from up there.
Our flight home leaves this afternoon, so I'd better finish my packing!
