Ocean colour

What is light?

Why we see colours

spacer Did you know?
  • Seawater can be many different colours - blue, green, grey, even brown or orange.

  • The colour of the sea can tell us much about what is in the water.

  • Ocean colour is measured daily from satellites. This helps to find fish and other animals, trace ocean currents, and study climate change.
